We are the superb ladies and gents of the Iota Tau Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma at the University of Texas at San Antonio
In the spring of 2010, a group of students from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) came together to begin the colonization process of becoming an official chapter of Tau Beta Sigma (TBS). With help from the Colony Sponsor Dr. Don Miller, eight prospective members submitted an application for colonization, which was later approved by National Headquarters. In Fall 2010, the number of prospective members had grown to seventeen - consisting of both music and non-music majors! One year later, the Iota Tau Colony consisted of twelve members, led by Colony President Yslette Arispe and Colony Vice President Ashleigh Johnson (both who would later become the chapter President and Vice President).
The Mascot's Corner
Hi everyone! My name is Dillon and I'm Iota Tau's spunky mascot! I've been a member of Iota Tau since the Fall of 2017 and I love UTSA!
On February 18, 2012, 11 dedicated colony members were initiated into the Sistauhood, officially becoming the Iota Tau Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma at UTSA. Our Founding Mothers are: Yslette Arispe, Ashleigh Johnson, Cara Hamlyn, Alana Urbano, Abby Wilde, Alina Lozano, Jessica Cantu, Araceli Manriquez, Christina Lozano, Johanna Reynolds, and Sarah Brack. Six years later, the chapter is still standing strong and growing. Our sisters work together for the advancement and success of all collegiate ensembles at UTSA and in the community while always upholding the ideals that Tau Beta Sigma stands for.
To give real service, you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money, and that is sincerity and integrity. - Douglas Adams
